Institutional Wholesale Company presented with Environmental Stewardship Award
On March 27, Institutional Wholesale Company was presented with an Environmental Stewardship Award from Contemporary Energy Solutions in regards to a recent lighting retrofit completed at the Cookeville facility. IWC replaced 321 hot-burning High Pressure Sodium and Metal Halide fixtures with 321 high-bay LED fixtures. Demand was further reduced with the integration of motion control systems. Annual electrical consumption will be reduced by an astonishing 821,000 kWh, freeing up significant demand on the local area power grid. Using EPA guidelines, the project is also the equivalent of removing 496 tons of CO2 from the atmosphere annually, and planting 150 acres of trees annually.
